Twisted Color Challenge: Lyndhurst Plum

This week’s color is a combination of blue and purple:

It, along with last weeks combination, have been making me look wistfully out the window at the cold and grey and wish for warmer and more colorful times.

Such a gorgeous photo Eliza, I never took up the split colour challenge like I know a few of my fellow colour bloggerettes did but seeing this makes me think that I should have?!

about 20 years back I was doing creative writing and I wrote briefly of “ploom”
On an attempt to find the colour I was thinking recently I came across this article about the colour “ploom” which was amazing to see a color i didnt know existed other than in my mind and in my story. Thanks for sharing the Imagery.
    The colour ploom is incredible.

When I saw this cute dress from Go! I laughed because it looks so similar to an apron I wear around the house to do cleaning, laundry, etc. Mine is pink and white, too, but I won’t submit everyone to a photo of me in hausfrau regalia.

I took my pictures today at the Lemon Moon Tea Room and Café, which is where I would live if I could.

Yard Work

I live in a very populated urban area so I don’t actually have a yard. It’s a dream of mine for someday, along with being able to look out my windows and not see a bar. For now I content myself with a potted blueberry bush on the stairs outside my door.

I indulge my need for isolated housing in SL. This cute mesh cottage from LAQ fit the bill perfectly, with it’s old world charm and lovely textures. It also comes with some potted flowers, which is really the only kind I know about.

I am wearing all kinds of mesh goodness today—my soft, comfortable pants are new from Zara Yip at Pirate Arts. Perfect for gardening and for relaxing with my big boy Con!

I also love the new Seraphina necklace from Maxi Gossamer. Particularly impressive are the small details on the pendant reminiscent of astrological signs or bodies. I’ll pay court to all of them if they will make my flowers grow!

Pose Fair 2012: Couples

A while I go I did Luna Jubilee’s Love Challenge and talked about my friend Stewart. It would appear I embarrassed him rather badly. But you know, embarrassed in that slightly embarrassed-but-sort-of-sheepish-pleasure sort of way. He has gone through a bit of a transformation, probably because when you have a mad girl running about snapping pictures of you when you aren’t aware of it, and posting them online for the world to see, it behooves him to be a bit more prepared.
There are some adorable couples poses available at the Pose Fair and I have seen so many great ones in the blog feeds. The two I chose today are both piggy-back poses. One thing I love about SL is being the kind of wispy little thing that men can throw over their shoulders and haul around with ease. Alas, the last time that was possible I think I was eight.
This first one is from Ploom. I like how the pose works perfectly with no body parts sticking through any others.

This next fun pose is from Everglow and it just oozes with cuteness. Stewart was a bit worried that his back would break but fortunately he lived and his back remains unbroken.

This next pose isn’t from Pose Fair, but it did go right along with the carry-Eliza-around theme. This one is from Magnifique, who is at the Pose Fair, but this one might not be there. And don’t let that smile fool you, Stewart was still grousing about his back!  I suspect he wanted to dump me unceremoniously into Izzie Button’s perfectly rendered pond.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out Pose Fair, your opportunity is winding down—Pose Fair goes through April 30th.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Alice Blue

There is so much new fabulousness flying around out there, I am feeling a little overwhelmed by it all. As I was going through my inventory I found this older cute blue jacket from Laqroki and decided that while there’s a time and a place for the new and fabulous, the old friends should not be forgotten.
My challenge winners (who should send me a notecard or IM with their color choice of Mayfly’s mesh eyes) are:
1. Anichka Savira
2. Simply Dou
3. Moniq Salamander
Congratulations! Keep on reading to find out about next week’s giveaway!

Now for this week I am going to give away three pair of these cute slip-on canvas shoes from Yulicie. They are so simple but the perfect comfy choice for today’s outfit. And guys, you can wear them too! There are a lot of colors available, so you’re not stuck with blue. Leave your comment here or on the flickr photo to be eligible for the drawing.
Have a happy week everyone!

White Peony

I saw the picture of this dress at Meiling Couture and loved the flowers down the back so much that I just had to have it. This is the kind of dress that probably weighs a ton—I imagine this is one you would need help getting into and out of. But oh, how beautiful!

This beautiful Noga necklace from Yula Finesmith ties in with the flower motif.

Aw congrats for the spotlight on Meiling!!

In looking around for a dark, gothic-esque place to take photos today I stumbled upon the Orbis of Cruor sim. It didn’t look extremely dark but I liked the colors and textures. After awhile the sim owner, Aridis Inaka, asked if there was some reason I was just standing around for like half an hour, and so we laughed and got to talking. Like many sim owners, Aridis got a little tired of doing all the same thing on her sim and has been making some changes—although she does maintain one club that the most gothic of gothies would love. Today I am only showing a building as a backdrop, but stay tuned for more from this great sim!

Crank Design just released this cute outfit called Nora and as I was in the mood for a little something different, this fit the bill! I call this my sissy goth look, since to be hard core I would need streaks or black lipstick or far more piercings, and would need to be a lot whiter. Smile And finally, I found some gorgeous but slightly creepy jewelry from Yelka Crumb. I just can’t stop looking at it!
