I remember watching Luc Besson’s La Femme Nikita after returning to the United States after spending a couple of years in France. I remember feeling very cosmopolitan because now I could watch French films  without English subtitles—the very height of sophistication. I was not prepared, though, for how big an impact it would have on me. Though there have been several creditable remakes both in film and television, none of them has come close to the raw, gritty and fantastic 1990 original with the wonderful Anne Parillaud. If you haven’t seen it, give it a whirl. It’s pretty good with English subtitles too.

Settling Down

It’s been a crazy semester but finally things are starting to slow down. And that is a good thing. Today I am wearing a couple of new offerings, one a group gift from Le Poppycock that embodies my festive mood and a new top from District.

There is so much to choose from at the Accessories Fair and it is responsible for my continual angst about not being able to buy everything in sight! The new Adele set from Indyra Seigo instantly caught my eye with its earthy colors and intricate details—if it looks familiar it’s because Gypsy was wearing it yesterday!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Neon Carrot

I had something totally different planned for this week, but then I saw this shirt and had to have it! While looking for a suitable venue, I ran into a couple of guys that graciously allowed me to jump into their conversation. And they were exceedingly good natured when I asked if they could please move their furniture and pose for me!!!

So a big thank you to Bruce and Artie, meeting you was kismet!
