It has been a week of very good news for those of us who wear mesh bodies. The Belleza update was particularly exciting for me, since it is my personal favorite, but I am also excited about The Mesh Project making their dev kit available to all. It will be interesting to see what possibilities this will bring to SL fashion. The Mesh Body Addict’s Fair is in full swing and rumor has it that the crowds have diminished enough that you can actually tp in now without too much trouble. A more comprehensive description of the fair can be found on the Mesh Body Addict’s website, but one of my favorite designs is the Sunshine outfit from Gizza with it’s tiny pompom edging and boho feel.
Contrary to most women, I love one-piece swimsuits. I love the fabric, I love the shaping they give the body (I personally desire all available shaping help). I like knowing that it’s going to be pretty reliable at staying on while swimming—although one of the most mortifying moments of my life occurred when my one piece fell off on a waterslide and I was too dazed by the whack I had got on my head to notice. To my eternal shame, it was up to my friend Justin to put my swimsuit back on in public. Since that day I make sure I am strapped in securely. Pixel parts tend to stay where you put them, though, so this sweet suit by the Neve team was the perfect choice today.
It’s time again for Hair Fair, an event I (and half the grid) always look forward to. I walked through the sims last night and was pleased at the space and the layout of the event…most of the designs are viewable from the sidewalk, eliminating the need to go into every booth. At an event that is so popular, the less you have to maneuver into small spaces, the better.
I am starting off with one of Mina Nakamura’s Hair Fair designs, simply because I love the lines and the way it frames the face. Mina’s textures are some of my favorites.
I’ve been wearing Aida Ewing’s Ary and Bell Catwa head appliers from Collabor88 for the last few days. I have always been an Aida Ewing fan, but these two skin appliers are particularly lovely.
Valentina E.’s beautiful Paisley dress at Fameshed this month is exactly the kind of thing I would love to wear in RL if I were flatter-chested, willowy and elegant. Sadly I am none of these things, but if I were this dress would definitely be part of my wardrobe. I am also wearing jewelry from AvaWay today, a brand that has been around for about a year and a half. I love the exquisite gem work.
I was thrilled to see this theme for the new round of The Liaison Collaborative because Newport is near and dear to me, being just a short drive from my home in Rhode Island. If you’ve never been, go. If you have been, go back. And visit the bathrooms at the Brick Alley Pub on Thames Street while you’re there. Quite an experience. The Sailor Jeans from Method are perfect for that nautical feel and Ors Quan’s shiny Spesa necklace adds a touch of dockside glam.
I have been wearing the Hannah skin applier from Atelier Pepe since it came out, and I haven’t wanted to change skins yet. Hannah is classic English Rose and perfect on the Catwa Alice head. Caelan Hancroft’s beautiful Nova set will be released tomorrow at Fameshed.
