When Luna Jubilee asked what skating poses we wanted her to make, I asked her to make one clutching the wall, because that’s what I do most often at the skating rink. However, she clearly had much more poised poses in mind. My puffy jacket with it’s pocketed sleeves uses the bottom half of one of her lovely gliding skating poses—something I can only dream of. Goji’s Sweet16 legwarmers keep me toasty and will help pad the knees when the inevitable fall occurs.
This great rowboat pose from oOo and consignment is at this round of the Liaison Collaborative and I enjoyed photographing the sweet moment it evokes. Another favorite of mine right now is the simply crafted but beautiful Country Church from Tya Fallingbridge of Pixel Mode, which is available at this round of Fameshed. Thanks to Danny for helping me with the pose today.

There is a magical place in the highest Rocky Mountains where my family spends a week every year. It’s a time where we disconnect completely from technology and work and we spend time together. This year one of my nieces caught her first fish. Mostly we get rainbows, but sometimes we catch Kokanee salmon or Arctic Greyling. Rainbows are our favorite for dinner on the fire, and I was glad to capture my niece’s look of surprise and pride in her first catch and her careful excitement as she ran from the boat to show her dad.
This landscape is a little less wild than the high Uintahs, but trout are found in rivers as well as mountain lakes. I chose a recent style from Damselfly for it’s messy waves—after a week of camping my hair does kind of look like this, but on Eliza it looks chic and intentional!
November is my second most favorite month of the year. October wins because it brings the blessed autumn season. November, now, brings sock weather. You can still get away with bare feet in October, at least where I live. But not in November. No sir-ee. I contemplated taking a picture of my truly ridiculous RL sock drawer to show the woolly goodness, but I’ve decided against it. Maybe next time.
Gawk makes my favorite socks on the grid, hands down. These were released last year (maybe the year before). No one has come close to approximating their yarny comfort. They are made for November.
Another round of My Slink Obsession has begun and Wicked Peach has released a lovely set of nails in colors edged with silver or gold. I am wearing the gold today. You can see more Wicked Peach designs at My Slink Obsession.
One of the sweetest people I have met in SL is Caroline. I’ve known her since my earliest days in SL and have wanted to do a shoot with her for some time. Now, not everyone wants to have their picture taken—I know because I’ve asked! However, Caroline readily agreed and turned out to be a natural, so you’ll probably see more of her! One thing I admire about this talented lady is her ability to rock the blonde look. Being a resigned brunette myself, no one appreciates this more than I do. And when I saw this cute pink winter outfit from Cameron Vasiliov, I knew it would be a perfect fit:
We had some fun trying to catch snowflakes courtesy of a new pose set from Juxtapose.
One other relatively recent release is a new tattoo layer set from Izzie Button, who most graciously allowed us to temp-rez at her store so we could do the photo shoot. My cold-flushed cheeks are due to her amazing ability to create facial color variations. Thanks, Izzie!
When I moved to New England from the Southern United States I came with some expectations about the winter. Like that it would be cold, and that there would be snow. I grew up in the western United States where there was always abundant snow and my home state is one of the most popular for skiing in the country. But we always heard about this super-wintry Northeast weather. So we have been here about six years and on only one of those years have I actually had to wear my winter coat. And also only one year have we had any snow to speak of. So it’s a little disappointing to have to get my snow fix from SL, but there you go. Today I wandered around the North Pole Sleigh Adventure sim and it was really quite enchanting. It’s worth checking out. Just watch out for the sleighs, I did almost get run down a couple of times!
My scarf, earrings and pants today are all from the Designer Circle this week. This cycle won’t last much longer so get over there while you can!
