Beyond the Sea

The Under the Sea Expo is on right now and it is a stunning build. I have never been much of an underwater personality in SL but it is is quite popular with many residents, and at the Expo it is easy to see why. There are some wonderful underwater plant designs at the Expo so I tried my hand at underwater landscaping.

This shoot reminded me of the Julio Iglesias version of Beyond the Sea that was used at the end of the recent film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

Away From It All

Every summer my family goes up to a lake in the high Uintahs for one week away from any kind of media or technology. It’s a week where we do a lot of swimming, hiking, and sitting around talking to each other. We play Yahtzee and make kites and cook over the fire. We stay in one-room cabins that sometimes have chipmunk visitors, unlike this gorgeous summer cabin from Apple Fall. My one geeky brother-in-law who struggles the most with the no technology thing downloads geo-caching maps into his phone so he can take all the kids treasure hunting. It’s the best week of the year. All of the fun games by Elle Kirshner of Second Spaces at the Arcade got me thinking about the fun times ahead this summer. I particularly liked the chinese checkers set, but all of the games look great and I am sure they will be making further appearances in the future!

As we head into the Memorial Day weekend it’s going to be ever-more tempting to shed those winter clothes and head for the water. Damien Fate’s new swimwear line gave Stewart lots of options, but he chose the new Mark trunks. He did try out the new fitted Ian trunks as well but they looked a little, er, too realistic, if you know what I mean!

Fire Mage

The beautiful dark skins that Aikea Rieko is releasing at Fantasy Faire this year are making my imagination go crazy. While this particular fantasy involved the necessary covering up of the avatar to avoid scorching everything around it, I am sure I will find another way to use these gorgeous dark skins. But today I am inspired by the Fire Mage Master from Robin McKinley’s novel Chalice.

My magical, protective fire-proof outfit today comes from Damien Fate, and keeps me from burning anyone who touches me to a crisp. My cracked fire tattoo is a nice match for this lovely skin.

    Wow when you’re fantasy side comes out Eliza it comes out in true technicolour, you look absolutely amazing! I mean you always look gorgeous but this is just… WOW!
