One of my favorite items at The Liaison Collaborative this round are the beautiful Lily earrings from Ariskea. In the past I have been a big fan of Aris’ home and décor items, but I was pleased and impressed with this foray into jewelry.
One of my favorite pose sets this year at Pose Fair is the Reader set from Everglow. There are several poses available and the book prop is available in several different colors. There are several other items in this photo that are free hunt gifts for the Wayward Hunt. So if you haven’t started hunting, you can see what you’re missing!
The Liaison Collaborative is featuring a good number of romantic and sweet couples poses this round, so I strong-armed Stewart into helping me with one of them today. To give him credit, he only grumbled a little.
I also don’t seem to be able to resist working Cory Edo’s glorious Iona Conservatory at Collabor88 into as many photos as possible.
One note on today’s photo: I did have to do a little bit of editing on Damselfly’s lovely Alba hairstyle simply because the neck of my sweater is huge and poked through it a bit. When you haven’t got a gigantic sweater on, it looks like this! Alba is available at the Fantasy Collective which began yesterday.
We have been having beautiful pre-fall days here lately, but today we had one of those surprise 90-plus degree days that are so humid the weather people don’t even bother with a dew point. All of my fellow teachers arrived at school this morning in frantic search of more hair gel. And that was at 8am…we won’t even talk about 3pm.
So in SL today I wanted un-frizzy and untangled locks, and Truth Hawks’ new Venus style fit the bill. You can find this gorgeous do at this round of Fameshed.
My skin and shirt today are both available at Collabor88. There’s a lot of great stuff at the event this month so check it out!
At last I was able to get into Vintage Fair and everything finally rezzed so I am able to get at the vintage goodness! The first design I fell utterly in love with was the Gloria hair from Wasabi Pills. 2012 may not be vintage, but this style works in the present day as well as hints at sleek elegance from times past. My jewelry is from Tiffy Vella of Eclectica and has instantly become one of my favorite sets. The variety possible with this set is nothing short of amazing.
My beautiful dress, while not a Vintage Fair item, does fit the retro theme. This is the Pixxis Designer Circle item this week. It makes me feel sleek and stylish.
If you know your Scottish history then you know that the thistle is the official floral emblem of Scotland. Legend has it that a soldier from an invading army stepped on one when sneaking up to attack, cried out, and thus gave himself and his group away. If you take a good look at one it’s easy to see why it might hurt to step on one…but what on earth was that guy doing wandering around with no shoes or flimsy shoes? Sheesh, man, if you’re going to go marauding, make sure you are properly shod!
One of the most important dates in Scottish history is the Battle of Culloden. Because I have friends that like to make random things I have access to a replica of the memorial cairn that stands on Culloden field today. It was worth a moment to pause and reflect…and mostly to thank my lucky stars I was not born in that place and in that century.
Congrats to Yvette Donner and Lashae Karsin, who win the Trend hair from Lelutka. Watch for it in-world! I made an educated guess as to color. Berate me if I have chosen poorly!
Next week, I’ll be giving away a couple of gift cards to Ibizarre. I am just loving Anyusha’s new mesh work!
