A friend of mine got tickets for his family to go see Cirque du Soleil when it comes to his town and it got me thinking about my favorite part of that type of show, the aerial hoop. I can’t even imagine the kind of strength and balance one has to have to not just stay on the hoop, but make it beautiful. I found this gorgeous shot of hoop aerialist Elena Gatilova and tried to emulate her strength and grace.

There are two events that have just begun that I look forward to each round. Oneword opened last week, and Rack Poses released this sweet pose there.  My Slink Obsession is also running now and my torn jeans from Somnia are an appropriate choice for all that raking. Barely paid me a visit and helped me with my poses today…when I said rake he clearly had the alternative definition of the word in mind, with his tousled hair and irresistible hipster style. Since I had him, though, I took the opportunity to use Luna Jubilee’s newest group gift pose to display him in all his splendor.

I wanted to find some way of wearing the spectacular Casanova tattoo from Bolson at this round of the Men’s Dept. Not being a fan of baring it all in pretty much any life, you won’t get the whole idea of just how beautiful the details are in my photos…but it may be enough to make you run to the Men’s Dept. to check it out in all its glory.

Inka Mexicola has released yet another gorgeous skin for The Dressing Room—I love the scowling intensity, set off by Tommy Fairplay’s rumpled locks. 101514b

There is nothing like being buried in hair from Hair Fair only to have great in-store releases out at the same time. Simply put, I am having a hard time putting on anything other than Truth Hawks’ new Tom style. Meanwhile, that Hair Fair folder keeps staring at me…. #slbloggerproblems

Tonight the June round of the Arcade begins. This sweet style from Truth Hawks will be one of the styles available in the Truth gacha at the event. Now to decide….do I get up at 3am to get into the Arcade or do I not get up and hence have to wait a week or two before getting into the Arcade? SL problems, indeed.

Skin Fair—First Faves

As soon as I saw that Ivy Graves was releasing a skin for Skin Fair I immediately set aside my Ls! I adore Atomic skins and love that Ivy is releasing skins again. Innocence is worthy of its name, clear and soft and unspoiled.

I am also a lover of Inka Mexicola’s Essences skins. Emma’s delicate bone structure and sweet freckles are so appealing.

Finally, Lara Hurley’s Ivy is fresh-faced with just the right amount of gloss on the lips. I call this an auspicious beginning to Skin Fair!

If I (being totally artistically talentless myself) have one gripe about SL content it is the dearth of quality animal props available. I don’t know how many times I have wanted a bird, dog, cat, horse, goat, deer, or whatever in my photos only to find that the options are truly limited, particularly animals that can be posed.

That’s why I used the Breeder’s Choice horse avatar for my photo today. Where are all the SL unicorns? Knowing my unicorn lore, I am well aware that unicorns are NOT horses and bear only the most passing resemblance to them, but alas, horses are what there is to be had in SL.

I took this photo on Sasaya Kayo’s beautiful sim while her charming foxes looked on. Perhaps there is hope for SL animal props after all.

    Hi there!

I’m a digital marketing specialist, and I ran some SEO reporting tools on your website. The results showed that there’s a lot of additional web traffic we can get you by making sure that you’re ranking higher in search engines like Google.

You’re not ranking very well at the moment, but you could be. I can help you increase your website ranking by fixing a few issues found on the back-end of your website and optimizing it for search engine algorithms. This leads to increased rankings, which then leads to getting additional traffic/sales.

If you’re interested, kindly write back because I’d really like to speak with you. If you want to know more about what I can accomplish for your site, we can set up a time for a free consultation. I’d like to share some insights and suggestions, and if all goes well then hopefully we can work together. I hope to speak with you soon!

I was imagining today what my students would say if I walked into class with this many piercings and with gold paint on the tips of my ears. That is one reaction I would love to see. I might have to try it one day.

New Year Meme

This meme from Strawberry Singh sounded like a good reflective-type activity for today, so here goes. Thanks, as always, to Bastion for showing up photo-ready to help me out today, although I am a bit miffed that he has a better hat than I do.

  1. How did you spend New Year’s Eve? At home, with my husband. We watched the New Year’s Eve broadcast from Spain, which always gives us new song and film ideas for teaching our Spanish classes.
  2. Did you keep any new years’ resolutions? No. I feel like I am constantly resolved on doing things and being a certain way whether it’s the new year or not.
  3. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year? In real life, I built and implemented two iPhone games for my Spanish classes. I also presented the games at the national convention for the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. I know, achievement city right here. In SL, I moved my blog to this new domain. It was a big step, but I am glad I did it.
  4. What was the best thing you bought? In real life, my Alienware computer. I get lots of sidelong looks and questions about being a gamer, but I really love having a powerful computer. I have been creating a lot more visual content for my work and my new machine has really made a difference. And for SL it’s a dream. I also upgraded to Dropbox Pro. It literally changed my life. In SL? Probably my Maya tutorials from Leviathan Flux. I haven’t made anything yet, but I am learning so much!
  5. What do you wish you’d done more of? In real life, I wish I had been able to see more of my family. I am going to make that happen more this year—gasoline prices be darned.
In SL, I wish I had talked to more people and gone more places. I enjoy the social aspect of SL but tend to hang out on my own rather than intrude in social spheres.
  6. What do you wish you’d done less of? In real life, not much. I worked a lot and played a lot and plan to do more of the same this year. I do wish I cared less about unimportant things. In SL, I wish I had not let my investments become unbalanced. I am working on that.
  7. What was your favorite movie you watched this year? There were two that I previewed for my Spanish Language and Culture class. One is called El Sueño de Iván and the other is called A Better Life. The first is delightful and sweet and the second is heartbreakingly sad. Incidentally, they both star the wonderful Damián Bichir.
  8. What did you do on your birthday this year? In real life, I sang the Verdi Requiem with the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood. It’s probably one of the more wonderful things I’ve done in life, period. In SL, I don’t remember.
  9. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned. You can climb every mountain, you can ford every stream. You can follow all the rainbows, but it’s no guarantee that you’ll find your dream. I try to forget that from time to time, though.
  10. What does 2014 hold for you? In RL I don’t know but I will be satisfied with health and employment. In SL I hope to learn to do basic modeling and improve my photography.

Oh you got me intrigued by the Maya classes, I might have to look them up. Not that I am looking to getting into designing, but it may be fun to learn something completely new like that.

Sounds like you had a pretty eventful and wonderful 2013, hope you get the same and even more in 2014. Thanks for participating. <3
