Flux Sur Mer is a beautiful new sim with several differently styled areas—it was the perfect backdrop for my photos today. As you can see, I am still experimenting with my new mesh heads and learning the ins and outs. I do like that there is a minimum of correction that needs to happen on a mesh head photo…I guess I can add that to my pros column! My luminous skin applier today is a new release from Ele Brandi of Modish.
When I was sixteen or so, my older brother brought me home an old bicycle similar to this one. It had an extra-wide seat and I was delighted because I have an equally wide posterior. I remember my group of friends making fun of me the first time I took my new (old) bike out for a ride with them. Among the shiny mountain bikes and ten-speeds I guess it did look a little frumpy. But then my friend Jayson asked if he could ride it for a bit and I let him. After about five seconds he laughed and declared how sweet a ride it was, followed by lots of teenager adjectives like “awesome” and “rad” (hey, it was the nineties). And just like that, I went from being old-fashioned and dowdy to being chic, vintage and cool. Everyone wanted to ride my old bike after that. To this day I have never had a bicycle I loved more.
ColdLogic had a big release this week and what better way to try it out than on an evening bike ride, just like that one so many years ago? The sweet sandals I am wearing are Reign’s most recent Fameshed release.
I’ve had this pose from Luna Jubilee on my to blog list for a couple of weeks and finally today I was able to meet up with my friend Danny and make it happen. While we were shooting, Danny decided that he looked like he was thinking about some other woman in this pose instead of the one draped all over him. Curious, I asked who the other woman was that he was thinking about. He replied immediately, “Joni Mitchell.” Now, a girl just can’t get mad about that. Anyway, he fiddled around a bit with the pose until he felt he looked properly attentive. I’ve included both photos here. Thanks to Danny for the help…I am glad he had Joni to get him through it.
Thanks yet again to Strawberry Singh for helping me to blog without having to come up with a topic on my own!

I am…the only me there is. Thank goodness. I want…people to be happy. I have…too much Russian choral music. I wish…chocolate was a low-glycemic superfood. I hate…my weaknesses. I fear…outer space. I search…for Spanish songs that demonstrate grammar principles. I wonder…what people think about. I regret…trusting the wrong people. I never…liked spinach and never will. I always…turn the light on in the bathroom before using it at night. I usually…disappoint people. I dance…much to the horror of my high school students. I sing…less well than I’d like. I often…load the dishwasher and start it before my husband can get home and rearrange it. I sometimes…sing top 40 hits opera-style. I cry…over babies and wars. I need…an additional three hours each day. I should…travel more. I love…my family.
I happened to be right in the spot where this week’s storm hit hardest, dumping a couple of feet of snow on the city where I live. We have only just today started to dig out. My favorite forecast term from the weather teams this week though, was thundersnow. On Elvi Hartley’s Timeless sim it is definitely snowing hard enough for thundersnow, but sadly I didn’t hear any today.
Glam Affair’s Ellie skin at Uber is one that I really like. Since I am wearing the Maitreya Lara body today it was extra easy to match because the Glam Affair skin tones are pre-loaded into the Lara hud. Also from Glam Affair is the lovely Bubble necklace, which can be found at this month’s round of Uber.
As the winter season has progressed, I have come to the realization that fall and winter are really my favorite times of the year. Not that spring and summer are bad, but fall and winter really let you see the bare bones of the earth, and I find them mesmerizingly beautiful. I also feel a sort of kinship with plants and trees that wither for a time, but then find life and creation again after a season.
I’ve enjoyed attempting to recreate this particular kind of beauty in SL. My beautiful friend Kidman, who is herself a talented fashion photographer, came to help me out with this wonderful pose from Luna Jubilee.
