    Very nice setting.. 🙂

Under the Stars

When I was little, our neighborhood would have movies in the park sometimes at night, and they would throw a sheet over a line and project a movie for all the families to come and watch together. It was fun, even if I did fall asleep most of the time before the movie was over. It was usually a film like “The Love Bug” or “The Absent Minded Professor,”or some other family-friendly title. Hanstrid Inshan released the Under the Summer Stars outdoor movie set at The Liaison Collaborative this month and it reminded me of those times. I threw up a scene from one of the greatest espionage stories of all time, “Smiley’s People”, in honor of my dad, who somehow managed to not murder us all as we bemoaned his TV choices when we were little. Smiley’s People (with Alec Guinness, of course) was one of his favorites, and now it’s also one of mine. Thanks to Stewart for helping with the photo today and shouting out George Smiley quotes now and then to keep me on task.

My Attic at The Deck ends today and with it the chance to grab this lovely skin applier from Lumae for the Lelutka head, TMP,  Slink Visage, and as an Omega applier. Skin appliers are pretty pricey in SL and this one is a steal at 95L per skin tone. My flowing locks from Shyla Honey of Damselfly complement this skin nicely.

Second Life Yearbook Smile Challenge

It’s time for another Strawberry Singh challenge, and this one is to post a yearbook-style photo. Smiling is awkward at best and downright creepy at worst in SL. With photo editing it’s doable, but really the only smile that looks even moderately tolerable to me is with a mesh head. And those have issues of their own. However, I find that whether on a mesh head or a regular avatar head, smiles look much better in three-quarter or profile views. At least there is not that weird Chucky-vibe of the straight shot.

The skin applier I used is from the Deluxe Body Factory—an exclusive for My Slink Obsession. And if I had flowing locks like this gorgeous style from Mina in RL you better believe I’d be rocking it for my yearbook photo. As it is, this is what my hay-textured hair actually looked like my senior year of high school.

These Boots Ain’t Made for Walking…in Snow

Lindsey Warwick’s lovely new Evoke boots will show your legs to the best advantage…but I think they would not be of optimal usefulness in a tromp through the snow. Better all around to have a seat, look at the snow, and admire your beautiful legs and feet.
