Panties for Luna

There has  been a bit of sad wandering around among the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge bloggers, wondering what to do now that the challenge has ended. During a conversation with my darling Rudhmellowen Laguna, we thought about doing a big thank you photo for Luna. Now, this year Luna seemed to be half-naked much of the time, and appeared to have a particular aversion to wearing pants. We all loved seeing her color interpretations through her partially bared pixels, and truly, no one rocks the pixel booty like our Luna! So in honor of her, a bunch of the color challenge bloggers got together and did a panty shoot for Luna. Now how many people do you know that can get this many girls to drop their drawers at once?

We love you Luna, thanks so much for two great years!

This many half-nekkid girls is bound to create some hilarity, and as you can see, it did.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Amazon

With this week we come to the end of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. I thought of wearing something festive and green, but the end of the challenge has dampened my spirits somewhat—if only because now I have to find some other way to be creative with my blogging! At any rate, it has been a marvelous two years. And this year I have enjoyed sharing my favorite designers and items with my fellow bloggers and friends.

Last week I promised to give away a Barnesworth Anubis home, and Rudhmellowen is the one who wins it!

For my last color challenge giveaway, I will give away a pair of SLink mesh hands. They more than anything have changed my blogging life this year! Leave your comment below to be included in the giveaway.

Thanks to Luna for a wonderful run, and all the best to everyone for 2013.

It was good to see that most everyone had to get creative with this color this week!!! I took a chance and asked the truly lovely Maxi Gossamer to show off her gorgeous self in my color challenge post this week, and as you can see, she did, after fiddling with her earrings for awhile!  And I found that the Santa Fe red option from her set is truly the right red for this color challenge—you can click through the image to see them up close. I just love this lady!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Juniper

When I was ten years old my mother gave me a copy of The Juniper Tree and Other Tales from Grimm. Edited by Lore Segal and with illustrations from the wondrous Maurice Sendak, they kept me fascinated for years. These are the original fairy tales with all the creepy, morbid bits intact. And the Juniper Tree is one of the  best…about a stepmother who kills her young stepson and cooks him down and feeds him to his father for dinner. For the whole story you can visit this site.

Congrats to Nicandra Laval who wins the LAQ Saga skin. And to Rudhmellowen Laguna who will win a pair of the Katatonic espadrilles!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Bittersweet

Oh Eliza i think that skin looks very beautiful on you. I am a big LAQ skin fan. So may be i am prejudiced.I am always wearing my LAQ skin, unless i am showing another free skin on my blog.

  2. Rudhmellowen

This casual look seems perfect on you for the autumn!

  3. Ygrey Auer

I’m wearing those espadrilles this week :p Love the skin on you.

  4. Anichka Savira

  5. samayalin

I’m usually not a fan of LAQ skins, but you look absolutely lovely in it 🙂 And I love that hair!

  6. Jennifer Koch

You look great, where is the hair from?

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Charcoal

Since we are leading up to Halloween, I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite Halloween-ish folk art of all time—the Calavera engravings of José Guadalupe Posada. Posada was a political satirist and unfortunately was not appreciated in his own time, but I adore these engravings, which so perfectly capture  the Mexican tradition of embracing death as an important part of being human.

I decided I would try to recreate the  center couple, and  for this I made my very first poses! (No sniggering, please!)

Mostly what I learned  is how talented one has to be to make poses and how talented in this area I am not.

Congrats to Harper Ganesvoort, who wins the Sasha’s gift card! Since I doubt that anyone would want my skeletons, I will forego the prize this week and double up next week!

oh wow you made those posts!!! i think you very talented.
And the idea is super. Wonderful

  2. Mayala Loon

Love this post … and both pics.
I know how hard it is to do poses … especially for such skeletons, which have kind of different proportions somehow. I tried it myself often enough.
You did a cool job there 😉

  3. Ygrey Auer

I love Posada work, great post Eliza!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Ghostly White

Last week I watched one of my favorite movies of all time: Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. I always pull out the creepy movies around this time, but there is so much awesomeness in this one I don’t know where to begin. Perhaps with David Bowie as the Goblin King. He sings, my friends, and he dances with goblins. He also wears the most amazing clothes, and the hair, well, I don’t even have words for the hair. So imagine my delight when I found that Lexi Vargas of GlamDammit had created a whole Goblin King ensemble! He kindly agreed to Bowie-up for this photo shoot, and a magnificent Goblin King he doth make! All of this was also on my mind since the Costume Ball event starts next week and looks to be a fantastic event.

Now admit it girls, you ALL wanted to be Jennifer Connelly in the ballroom scene (very creepy scene, but very cool) when you first saw this movie. The poofy dress, the big hair, the gorgeous jewelry, and getting to dance with the villanous-yet-attractive Goblin King…it just sent my young female brain right over the edge. My poofy dress comes courtesy of Sascha Frangilli, and let’s face it, for ballroom-wear, Sascha just can’t be beat. I will give away a Sascha’s gift card next week!

Congrats to Caroline Endersleigh, who wins the Ikon Kaleido Fatpack. Just let me know which one you’d like!

And check out this video for a taste of Labyrinth. Watch this one with friends or with your kids, it’s a classic that should not be missed.

You are so right about Labyrinth. That gown has always been near the top of my favorite movie costumes, and I love what you’ve done here.

  2. Nicandra Laval

    oh Eliza ..marvelous …super pictures

  3. Fledge

Definitely one of my all-time favourite films, and Jareth was one of my first crushes *g* But I’d say as I went on in life, I’d rather be him than Jennifer! That ballroom scene was indeed fantastic, the whole film – along with Tale of the Dark Crystal – probably helped shape my imagination and well… you can see from my blog where THAT went! 😉

  4. inkie Loudwater

Oohhh thinking of Scarlet O’Hara Gone with the Wind Love the pictures

  5. Sama Yalin

Awww I was such a fan of that movie when I was a kid! I don’t even know how many times I saw it 🙂 You did an amazing job capturing that scene.

  7. Anichka Savira

I love this post. You did such a fantastic job of reproducing that scene. Gorgeous.
