52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Firebrick

Alas, we are inching ever closer to the end of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. This week we have firebrick. Actually quite a nice color sending us gently into the fall season, at least here in the northern hemisphere. A friend mentioned the town of Staffordshire in England that has a very well-known history in pottery and china manufacturing. So I decided to do a little pottery making myself. One fun thing I found was the pottery design kiosks at Lantian. You can design and purchase your own pots there, two of mine are on the back shelf in my first photo. And since I was getting artistic, I figured, why limit the art to pottery? I have been waiting for the right moment to wear this great tattoo from Wicked Gear, and here it is!

Coastal Craze

When my husband got a job on the East Coast about six years ago, I was less than thrilled. I am a western girl at heart, I like my empty spaces, and there’s not a lot of that on the East Coast. The other thing that didn’t thrill me was the ocean. I liked it, but I liked being far enough away from it that it’s not a threat. I really haven’t done well at getting used to not being able to see very far around me, or at being around so many people. But I have learned to love living by the ocean. The sea is one of the only things that makes me relax (except for last weekend). So today I was lamenting the end of summer and beginning of classes and found a lovely sea-side location called Mahina Cove and I enjoyed strolling around and enjoying the sea-scape!

In looking around for a dark, gothic-esque place to take photos today I stumbled upon the Orbis of Cruor sim. It didn’t look extremely dark but I liked the colors and textures. After awhile the sim owner, Aridis Inaka, asked if there was some reason I was just standing around for like half an hour, and so we laughed and got to talking. Like many sim owners, Aridis got a little tired of doing all the same thing on her sim and has been making some changes—although she does maintain one club that the most gothic of gothies would love. Today I am only showing a building as a backdrop, but stay tuned for more from this great sim!

Crank Design just released this cute outfit called Nora and as I was in the mood for a little something different, this fit the bill! I call this my sissy goth look, since to be hard core I would need streaks or black lipstick or far more piercings, and would need to be a lot whiter. Smile And finally, I found some gorgeous but slightly creepy jewelry from Yelka Crumb. I just can’t stop looking at it!

On the Red Eye

People who stay up all night are like aliens to me. I have stayed up all night only twice in my life, and neither occasion made me want to consider life as a night owl. However, there are millions of people who just love it, so today I post for them!

First off, some new releases. Wicked Gear has come out with these totally smoking leather pants in several different colors—this particular pair are called Cherry Pie and made me think of a tough, night-loving girl who likes her black leather with a little bit of cute thrown in. My hair today is a new release from Me. called Patricia. Me. does things a bit differently with hair—instead of purchasing the color you want you purchase the hairstyle itself, which comes with a color-change hud. This style has options for base color and streaks. I like it!

And finally, a challenge I just couldn’t resist. Since we are talking red-eye, only Ikon Innovia’s new red addition to his Sunrise line would do. Now usually if you have red eyes then you are either an albino or a vampire—bad news if you happen to like the sun. However, just as with the other imagination-stretching colors that Ikon keeps dishing out, these look absolutely beautiful. It made me think, “Of course, red eyes! Everybody has them, right?!?”

Or at least they should.

    Red rawks! Thanks, Eliza!

Actually there is a place in Denver called Red Rocks – it’s an outdoor amphitheater carved from and surrounded by these reddish rock formations: http://www.redrocksonline.com U2 taped a live show there, and I saw INXS play back in their heyday. It was raining, and Michael Hutchins kept slipping and falling – hard – but he kept getting up and the show went on! And they sounded great.

The skin looks great on you!
