A Night Out

So to take a break from all the skin posts I thought I would share these pictures of my friend Isabelle Mortensen. She is wearing a gorgeous dress from Valentina Evangelista—perfect for a night out at the theater.

Ears-They’re Not Just For Hearing

They are also helpful for keeping flyaway hair out of your face, and for displaying any number of adornments. Mandala has finally released a mesh ear without piercings. Not hating on the piercings, mind, but the ears are so well done and it’s nice to be able to wear whatever earring I am in the mood for. And today I was in the mood for Zaara’s new mesh collection.

It must also be mentioned that I have spent an inordinate amount of time looking for hair that will expose said ear. These gorgeous flowy locks from Wasabi Pills were the perfect match.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Amazon

With this week we come to the end of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. I thought of wearing something festive and green, but the end of the challenge has dampened my spirits somewhat—if only because now I have to find some other way to be creative with my blogging! At any rate, it has been a marvelous two years. And this year I have enjoyed sharing my favorite designers and items with my fellow bloggers and friends.

Last week I promised to give away a Barnesworth Anubis home, and Rudhmellowen is the one who wins it!

For my last color challenge giveaway, I will give away a pair of SLink mesh hands. They more than anything have changed my blogging life this year! Leave your comment below to be included in the giveaway.

Thanks to Luna for a wonderful run, and all the best to everyone for 2013.

Those Slink hands are neat. I tried them on and I like how you can recolor and resize them and they come in so many different positions, oh, and the nail colors! I like this photo, great use of Amazon Green.

A few events are now over but I was not able to blog the things I liked while they were running. So today I am wearing some of my favorites from Cinema and The Costume Ball.

The Revenge pants from Darling Monday were one of my favorite items, mesh pants are one of the hardest things to fit and these are soft, casual and hug just the right amount.

I love the new Wasabi Pills hair that was released at the Costume Ball. So casual but so sweet!

And last but not least, something that is NOT at an event that is over. The new Santa Fe set from Maxi Gossamer provides stylish accessorizing with lots of options. Check it out at this month’s FaMeshed!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Hunter Green

Honestly the first thing I thought of when I saw this color was the beautiful Jennifer Connelly in her super sexy night-club scene from the film Dark City. Her dress in the film is perhaps not such a deep green, but that’s the impression I got. My hairstyle from Wasabi Pills might have been inspired by her gorgeous do!

Congrats to Akayo Firecaster, who wins the Pearl Daisies earrings from Maxi Gossamer. Next week I will give away one copy of the gorgeous Liz dress from Rebel Hope. Leave your comment below for your chance to win it!

  4. Rudhmellowen

I love the dark almost seedy feel to your photo this week Eliza… You look like some elegant vintage singer that would have been discovered in a smoky jazz club in the 20s or 30s! I am in love with the styling, that dress and hair look amazing on you, and the fact that you haven’t got any thing other than earrings to accessorise just screams of glamour! LOVE THIS LOOK!

  5. Ygrey Auer

I agree, this green is a beautiful vintage color:p Creo que es mi foto preferida de todas las que has hecho!

  6. Kaelyn Alecto

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Feldgrau

In front of the barracks,
In front of the main gate,
Stood a lamppost,
If it still stands out front,
So will we see each other there again,
By the lamppost we’ll stand,
As before, Lili Marleen.

Our two shadows
Looked like one.
That we were so much in love,
Anyone could see at a glance.
And everyone will see it,
When we stand by the lamppost,
As before, Lili Marleen.

Already called the guard,
“They’re blowing taps.
That could cost you three days!”
“Comrade, I’ll be right there.”
Then we said farewell,
How much would I have rather gone with you,
With you, Lili Marleen.

It knows your footsteps,
Your beautiful walk.
It burns every evening,
Although it forgot me long ago.
And if a mishap should befall me,
Who will stand by the lamppost,
With you, Lili Marleen?

Out of the silent space,
Out of the depths of the earth,
Lifts me as in a dream
Your loving mouth.
When the nocturnal mists swirl,
I will be standing by the lamppost,
As before, Lili Marleen.

Lili Marleen, German Love Song

Thanks to Stewart for the idea this week. Since our color got a bit military I made him dress up as a soldier. This song was a favorite of both German and Allied soldiers during World War II. At the bottom of this post I have pasted a video for anyone wanting to hear the real thing!

Congratulations to Caroline Endersleigh, who wins the Maitreya dress from last week. Send me an IM in-world to let me know which color you would like!

For next week, I will give away a gift card from Sn@tch. Ivey Deschanel is one of the great cornerstones of SL fashion and her recent mesh work is to die for. You know the drill!

Love the idea! You’re a beautiful Lili Marlen:)

  2. Nicandra Laval

War is terrible..as even can be felt in the sad song too. Mixed feelings seeing the german uniform too many innocent people died because of that terrible war,Eliza..but you look beautiful as Lili Marleen

  3. Alexandra

This is fantastic ! You actually show the essence of feldgrau. Love your Lilli Marlene re-enactment unter die Lanterne.

  4. Softpaw Sommer

Wow, your photos are so romantic.

  5. Sama Yalin

Love the first picture: romantic and also a bit melancholic. There must have been many couples like that, where the young man never returned home.

  6. Rudhmellowen

WOW, just wow!!! I love the romance and the history

Vintage Fair Take 3

The only problem with so much great stuff at Vintage Fair is that there is too much for me to wear myself. (Have I just committed blogger blasphemy?) At any rate, my friend Isabelle helped me show the Vintage Fair awesomeness today.

Cory Edo’s super-chic NYC66 skybox was the perfect background for us:

Isabelle’s sassy, sparkly dress from Gotzche makes her look like she’s ready for a night on the town instead of a skybox. 081612b

Isabelle is also sporting one of Kungler’s more avant-garde earring designs, which pair perfectly with her bold look.

My own more subtle frock is from Ison. I confess I have been wearing this dress for a week, and I never get sick of looking at the textures on it. My jewelry is called Nina from Me. It’s classic style and color options worked perfectly for this outfit. And I truly do love the Veronica hair from Wasabi Pills…it might win as my favorite Vintage Fair hair. And I have to mention the Claudia skin from Lara Hurley. It’s smooth and creamy and totally vintage classic.

Vintage Fair Take 1

At last I was able to get into Vintage Fair and everything finally rezzed so I am able to get at the vintage goodness! The first design I fell utterly in love with was the Gloria hair from Wasabi Pills. 2012 may not be vintage, but this style works in the present day as well as hints at sleek elegance from times past. My jewelry is from Tiffy Vella of Eclectica and has instantly become one of my favorite sets. The variety possible with this set is nothing short of amazing.

My beautiful dress, while not a Vintage Fair item, does fit the retro theme. This is the Pixxis Designer Circle item this week. It makes me feel sleek and stylish.
