Beautiful, my delight,
Pass, as we pass the wave.
Pass, as the mottled night
Leaves what it cannot save,
Scattering dark and bright.
Beautiful, pass and be Less than the guiltless shade To which our vows were said; Less than the sound of the oar To which our vows were made, Less than the sound of its blade Dipping the stream once more.
— Louise Bogan, To Be Sung Upon the Water; music by Samuel Barber
Peace. Not something I have much of at the moment, with two German and three Russian major choral works to be memorized and performed in the next two weeks. Today I made plans with a friend to head for the beach on Monday for a little memorizing break, and after seeing this lovely blanket tent I thought how nice it would be to just curl up on the beach and spend the night there. I bet the view in the morning would be a killer.
The majority of what is seen in this photo can be found at this round of Uber. A special shout out though to Mimikri for the gorgeous bikini (that I would never have the guts to wear in RL) and the beautiful, glowing Artemis skin from Aida Ewing at this month’s round of Collabor88.
