My dad always told us that if we weren’t feeling good we should go for a walk outside. Most of the time the walk cleared my head and made me feel better. Dads know stuff. Wayward Winter ends tomorrow so if you haven’t had a chance to check it out you can still do so today and tomorrow.
I am a huge fan of pajamas. Mostly I am a fan of the very thick, thoroughly unsexy woolly pajamas that one wears in wintertime, preferably with heavy socks on. And I don’t wear them just for sleeping, either. Happy is the day when I have no evening plans and can change right into them after getting home from work. When I attempt to wear a beautiful sexy nightie like this one in RL, the effect is sadly that of the ballet-dancing hippopotamus in the film Fantasia rather than anything resembling sexy. Eliza can pull it off, though, and Sands Leavitt has made this set to fit Slink Physique, Belleza Isis and Maitreya mesh bodies You can find it at this round of Uber.
Going o’er the hills, through the milk-white snow, Heard I ewes bleat, while the wind did blow.
Nowell, nowell, nowell, nowell sing we clear! Holpen are all folk on Earth, born is God’s Son so dear! Nowell, nowell, nowell, nowell sing we loud! God today hath poor folk raised and cast a-down the proud.
-Masters In This Hall, French Carol (English words by William Morris)
The first (and last!) time I tried out for the track team at school I fell flat on my face. I finally had to stop wearing heels even as an adult because of the many times I tripped on them. My knees are a battlefield of scars. I rejoiced when the late 90s arrived and chunky heels became fashionable, but I only fell down slightly less regularly. My 9th grade students still speak with awe and astonishment about the time I tripped on a backpack and landed in a terrible face-plant, having thrown my brand new computer across the room and into a cinderblock wall. I slipped and fell straight onto my back once in the school courtyard, my water bottle, pencils, car keys and papers flying all over, causing the lone student passing through to hesitate, wondering if he should help me or pretend for both our sakes that he didn’t see me. My husband covered his face in shame earlier this year when I tripped into a shelf of candles at Bath and Body Works and knocked them onto the floor where they shattered into smithereens.
You get the idea?
So when Sands Leavitt releases a sexy dress like this one, I wear it with delight . I also figure that in Kenadee Cole’s beautiful Inferno Heels at The Secret Affair, I can walk around knowing that I will not fall down, run into anyone or anything, or end up bleeding. In real life I would be eyeing those stairs with trepidation.
Gen-Neutral is full of great items this month, including this sweet pose from Infiniti. Izzie’s warm Winter Scarf keeps Stewart from catching a chill. My cardigan, neckerchief and boots are available at The Wayward Market this round.
When I saw Luna Jubilee’s new pose at Sad November, I immediately knew what bench I wanted to use with it. The whole Cere’s Autumn scene by Cory Edo at Uber is a tribute to cool autumn afternoons and cozy blankets. Thanks to Stewart for helping me with the photo today.
This round of My Attic at The Deck is in full swing and it was there that I found my sweater combo and Briet tweed skirt for today’s photo. My Falling in Love bicycle is perfect for riding off into a beautiful autumn sunset.
If you’re a mesh body wearer, then the news out of coldLogic yesterday was exciting, to say the least. That news was the newly released Neve label from the coldLogic team. Neve designs will be available in standard sizing but will also be available as fitted mesh for the most popular mesh bodies. As with all things fitmesh, getting dressed is so much easier with clothes designed for specific bodies.
I have been meaning to get to this sweet pose by Luna Jubilee since it was released at the Men’s Dept. this month…but it wasn’t until Winter Thorn’s lovely Lisbeth Garden Blanket set was released at Collabor88 that I had the perfect setting for it. Thanks to Stewart for helping me with the pose today.
